Teens & Young Adults Therapy

Support Through the Most Formative Years

Navigating Adolescence Can Feel Overwhelming—For Them or for You

The teenage and young adult years bring significant changes, pressures, and self-discovery. Sometimes, emotional struggles begin to interfere with school, relationships, or daily life. When that happens, therapy can offer meaningful support and practical tools for moving forward.

I work with adolescents and young adults who are facing challenges such as anxiety, depression, emotional dysregulation, social stress, or identity concerns. My sessions are safe, nonjudgmental spaces where young people can explore who they are, build confidence, and learn practical skills to navigate life’s complexities.

Therapeutic Approach:

By drawing from a variety of  evidence-based therapies, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)-informed skills, Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT),  individuals can develop the skills to live more fully in the present, create a meaningful life, and handle painful feelings and memories more effectively.

In therapy, I help teens and young adults:

  • Understand and manage their emotions

  • Develop healthier coping and stress-management skills

  • Improve communication and strengthen relationships

  • Build emotional resilience and confidence in decision-making

  • Reconnect with personal goals, strengths, and values

  • Learn mindfulness and acceptance strategies for navigating difficult thoughts and feelings

Therapy is always paced to match each person’s comfort level and readiness and is rooted in respect and genuine connection.

Who I Work With

I provide therapy for:

  • Teens (ages 14–17) who may be struggling with anxiety, depression, self-esteem, academic pressure, or family conflict

  • Young adults (ages 18–25) navigating independence, stress, career or college transitions, and mental health challenges

I also support parents and caregivers by offering insights, communication strategies, and tools to help them feel better equipped to support their young person's journey.

Common Issues I Help With

  • Anxiety, panic attacks, and excessive worry

  • Depression, low motivation, and feelings of isolation

  • Emotional outbursts, mood swings, or emotional shutdowns

  • Self-harm, risky behavior, or difficulty managing distress

  • Struggles with identity, self-worth, or peer pressure

  • Body-Focused Repetitive Behaviors, such as trichotillomania (hair-pulling) or skin-picking

  • Academic burnout, college stress, or social anxiety

  • Family tension, communication breakdowns, or significant life transitions

  • These challenges can sometimes show up as withdrawal, disinterest, or changes in behavior—but often they’re signs of deeper emotional distress.
