Linda Leiphart, PsyD
Licensed Clinical Psychologist
My approach begins with listening and developing a non-judgmental understanding of what brings you to therapy at this time in your life. You and I then work together, clarifying your goals. We build on what's working in your life as we identify obstacles hindering you from the life you long for. We will explore changes you can begin to make in order to achieve your goals and live your life to the fullest. Helping people to reduce the suffering in their lives, by providing treatment that works is the goal of therapy.
Let's start with a phone call. A 20 minute conversation can give you an idea if you feel comfortable working with me and whether the form of therapy I provide fits your current situation.
I am a licensed clinical psychologist, currently in private practice in Tucson, AZ. I earned a Doctorate of Psychology (Psy.D.) in Clinical Psychology from the Minnesota School of Professional Psychology/Argosy University 2003, as well as a Master's in Counseling Psychology from St. Mary's University in Minneapolis, MN in 1998.
I have extensive training and expertise in Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Each year I set aside a couple weeks to focus on increasing my knowledge and improving my therapeutic skills. Some past training include:
10-day DBT Intensive Training Course in 2001
5-Day Advanced Intensive Course in DBT in 2008, both conducted by the Behavioral Technology Transfer Group,
an organization headed by DBTdeveloper, Marsha Linehan, Ph.D.
5-day intensive training in Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy in 2012.
3-day intensive training treatment of Body-Focused Repetitive Behaviors (hair-pulling, skin-picking, etc.) in 2018
Prior to private practice, my clinical experience includes providing assessments, individual and group therapy for adolescents and adults experiencing a variety of emotional difficulties in hospitals, community agencies, and in a group practice, as well as being the team-lead in the development of outpatient and inpatient DBT programs.
